Responsibilities
- Manage departmental documentation, records, and filing systems
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for public meetings and community events
- Process permits and applications according to municipal regulations
- Assist with budget tracking and expense reporting for capital projects
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for council meetings
- Serve as primary liaison between residents and department leadership
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local government protocols
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of administrative experience in government or public sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and government reporting software
- Strong understanding of Oakland municipal codes and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency required
