Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned border areas to detect and prevent illegal entry of persons and contraband
- Conduct interviews, searches, and inspections to enforce immigration and customs laws
- Operate surveillance equipment and specialized vehicles for border security operations
- Document and report suspicious activities, security threats, and intelligence information
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
- Respond to emergency situations requiring tactical intervention
- Maintain accurate records and reports of patrol activities and incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Ability to pass rigorous background investigation and polygraph examination
- Successful completion of CBP Academy training program
- Physical fitness standards including running, swimming, and obstacle courses
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (oral/written)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and good moral character
- Pass medical examination and drug screening
