Responsibilities
- Records Management: Oversee the maintenance, organization, and archiving of all official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, and minutes.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare, distribute, and certify meeting agendas and minutes for the City Council, Boards, and Commissions.
- Public Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public, providing exceptional customer service and handling Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests efficiently.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all city operations adhere to state statutes, municipal codes, and the Open Meetings Act.
- Office Supervision: Lead and supervise the daily operations of the City Clerk’s office, including staff training and workflow optimization.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government or a related administrative environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with record management software or databases.
- Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, professional documents.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines accurately.
