Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and legislative actions
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and documentation for City Council meetings
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Serve as filing officer for legal notices and public documents
- Manage city records retention and destruction programs
- Coordinate with city departments on legislative compliance
- Provide public assistance regarding city records and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government records management experience
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Municipal Finance Officer (MFO) preferred
- Expert knowledge of California Government Code and Public Records Act
- Advanced proficiency in records management software and document imaging systems
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex record-keeping systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
