Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and preservation of all official city records, minutes, and documents.
- Coordinate and prepare agendas for city council and commission meetings, ensuring all procedural requirements are met.
- Act as the primary liaison between the public, city officials, and external agencies.
- Manage the reception area, answering inquiries, and directing visitors to appropriate departments.
- Ensure strict adherence to municipal codes, ordinances, and state regulations regarding document retention.
- Process and certify copies of vital records and official certificates.
- Assist in the coordination of civic events and public engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or Political Science is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a municipal office, government administration, or a similar clerical role.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and government record management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise correspondence.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
