Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, and resolutions with absolute accuracy
- Coordinate and document all City Council meetings, ensuring compliance with open meeting laws
- Oversee election processes and voter registration services for municipal elections
- Administer public records requests and ensure timely, compliant responses
- Lead business licensing and permit issuance processes
- Develop and implement records retention policies compliant with state regulations
- Act as primary liaison for public inquiries regarding city governance procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Expert knowledge of California Government Code and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, FileBound)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
