Responsibilities
- Maintain and safeguard official municipal records, ordinances, and resolutions with precision
- Coordinate City Council meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure compliance with Sunshine Laws
- Administer oaths, notarize documents, and serve as custodian of city seals
- Manage public records requests while balancing accessibility and confidentiality requirements
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Develop and implement records retention policies compliant with Florida statutes
- Train staff on records management protocols and legal compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal government, records management, or administrative leadership
- Florida Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Expertise in Florida public records laws (Chapter 119) and Sunshine Law compliance
- Advanced proficiency with records management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for critical documents
- Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to interpret complex regulations
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
