Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, distribution, and recording of official city council agendas and meeting minutes.
- Manage the city's records management system, ensuring the secure retention and archiving of all official documents and correspondence.
- Coordinate local elections, voter registration drives, and related civic engagement activities.
- Act as the custodian of the city seal and ensure compliance with open records laws (FOIA).
- Facilitate communication between the City Council, city departments, and the public.
- Prepare reports, proclamations, and official correspondence on behalf of the City Council.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal government, public administration, or a related administrative role.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Thorough knowledge of Robert's Rules of Order and parliamentary procedure.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and records management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Valid Driver's License is preferred.
