Responsibilities
- Oversee all city elections, voter registration, and ballot initiatives
- Manage official city records, document retention, and public information requests
- Prepare and certify City Council meeting minutes and legislative actions
- Administer municipal code updates and ordinance codification
- Manage the city's business licensing and permit systems
- Provide administrative support to the City Council and Mayor's office
- Ensure compliance with California Government Code requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with 2+ in clerk functions
- Valid California Municipal Clerk certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Expert knowledge of California election laws and Brown Act
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Proven experience managing complex public records requests
