Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal records management, including ordinances, resolutions, and official minutes
- Coordinate and document City Council and public board meetings with precision
- Administer oaths of office and manage public records requests in compliance with NC laws
- Supervise elections and voter registration processes to ensure democratic integrity
- Develop and maintain digital recordkeeping systems for accessibility and security
- Advise elected officials on parliamentary procedures and regulatory compliance
- Lead public outreach initiatives to enhance civic engagement and transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- NC Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of North Carolina open records laws and Sunshine regulations
- Advanced proficiency with document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
