Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and provide access to all official city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Oversee municipal elections, ensuring compliance with state election laws and regulations
- Prepare and maintain the city's legislative agenda, minutes, and official documentation
- Serve as the public records officer, responding to information requests and ensuring transparency
- Administer oaths of office and provide notary services for official documents
- Coordinate with city council, mayor's office, and department heads on procedural matters
- Develop and implement records management policies and retention schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal government or public sector administration
- Comprehensive knowledge of California Government Code, Brown Act, and election laws
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and document automation tools
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Valid California driver's license and ability to work flexible hours
