Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot initiatives ensuring compliance with Arizona state statutes
- Manage official city records, documents, and archives with digital transformation initiatives
- Prepare and distribute City Council meeting agendas, minutes, and legislative documentation
- Serve as the public records officer responding to public information requests within legal timelines
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official municipal seals and certifications
- Develop records retention policies and implement document management systems
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure legislative compliance and procedural accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public records management
- Arizona Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of Arizona Revised Statutes Title 9 (Elections) and Title 39 (Public Records)
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated ability to draft complex legislation
- Experience managing election cycles and public records request workflows
