Responsibilities
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of municipal meetings, including minutes, resolutions, and ordinances.
- Meeting Administration: Coordinate the logistics of city council meetings, prepare agendas, and manage the official record of proceedings.
- Public Records: Receive and process requests for public information in compliance with state freedom of information laws.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public and staff, providing exceptional service and resolving inquiries efficiently.
- Permitting & Licensing: Assist in the issuance of business licenses, permits, and other municipal documents.
- Documentation: Draft official correspondence, press releases, and administrative reports as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration or Paralegal Studies is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a municipal office, government, or administrative support role is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Integrity: Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in public service.
