Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including minutes, resolutions, and ordinances, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee the administration of municipal elections, including voter registration, polling place management, and election results reporting.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the public, providing accurate information regarding city procedures, ordinances, and departmental functions.
- Prepare and distribute agendas for City Council meetings and other official boards, ensuring all stakeholders receive timely notifications.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of clerical staff and temporary help, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Coordinate interdepartmental communications to ensure accurate flow of information regarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal government, administrative support, or a related clerical field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with records management software or government databases.
- Strong knowledge of public records laws, open meeting laws, and administrative procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
