Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and behavioral issues
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and access controls
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Train new officers on facility procedures and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Successful completion of physical fitness assessment
- Basic computer proficiency and report-writing skills
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
