Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Operate security systems including gates, cameras, and communication devices
- Collaborate with law enforcement partners during emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Must be 21+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Pass thorough background check and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to obtain Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Physical fitness for standing/walking extended periods and responding to emergencies
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
