Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules to maintain security and order
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts in assigned areas
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with trained protocols
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate daily activity reports
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband following strict procedures
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and educational initiatives
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during joint operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Nevada driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Physical fitness to pass annual agility tests
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement (highly desirable)
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
