Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during weekend shifts
- Conduct routine inspections and headcounts to ensure facility safety
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations consistently
- Participate in emergency response drills and training exercises
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical staff as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and clean background check
- Ability to pass physical fitness and psychological evaluations
- Basic computer literacy and report writing skills
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Completion of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) academy or willingness to complete
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
