Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain secure facility operations during overnight hours
- Conduct regular cell inspections and headcounts to ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Respond to emergencies, conflicts, and medical incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate logs of all facility activities
- Transport inmates between facilities as required for court appearances or medical needs
- Collaborate with day shift staff for seamless transition of critical information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean criminal background and driving record
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) with weekends and holidays
- Strong conflict resolution skills and physical fitness to handle security situations
- Proficient in basic computer systems and documentation software
- Ohio driver's license with clean record
