Responsibilities
- Process and maintain accurate court records, filings, and dockets
- Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, litigants, and court personnel
- Manage electronic filing systems and document imaging protocols
- Coordinate jury selection and courtroom scheduling logistics
- Handle sensitive legal documentation with strict confidentiality standards
- Assist in preparing official court orders and administrative correspondence
- Conduct thorough legal research and cite-checking for judges
- Train new staff on court procedures and record-keeping systems
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 3+ years of court/clerical experience required
- Proficiency in legal terminology and NY court procedures
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with e-filing systems (e.g., NYCEF) preferred
- NY State residency required within 90 days of hire
