Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain city-wide emergency management plans and procedures
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during disaster response and recovery operations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train emergency personnel and public officials on disaster protocols
- Manage grant applications and ensure compliance with FEMA regulations
- Oversee public alert systems and crisis communication strategies
- Analyze post-incident data to improve future response effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in emergency management or public safety
- FEMAP certification or equivalent emergency management credentials
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Strong written/verbal communication and crisis management skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
