Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency operations plans for Shelby County
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response drills and table-top exercises
- Analyze risk assessments using GIS mapping and threat modeling software
- Lead public outreach campaigns for disaster preparedness education
- Manage federal/state grant applications for emergency infrastructure projects
- Serve as primary liaison between local governments and state emergency operations center
- Document incident reports and post-event improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency planning or disaster response experience
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software and emergency management platforms
- Valid Tennessee driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during crises
- Demonstrated experience with NIMS/ICS protocols
