Responsibilities
- Conduct initial interviews with veterans to determine eligibility for VA benefits.
- Analyze complex medical and service records to determine entitlement to compensation and pensions.
- Prepare and process benefit claims with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assist claimants in navigating the appeals process and submitting additional evidence.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files in accordance with federal regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve complex claims issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure veterans feel heard and supported.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. (Applicants with a high school diploma and 4 years of progressively responsible experience may also be considered).
- Typing: Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal case management systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with a diverse population of veterans.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and document review.
