Responsibilities
- Greet and Direct: Welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member in a professional manner.
- General Support: Perform general clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, and sorting mail.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate records and databases by inputting data into internal systems with high attention to detail.
- Document Management: File documents, prepare reports, and assist in the organization of physical and digital files.
- Customer Service: Assist citizens and staff with inquiries regarding city services and procedures.
- Meeting Support: Set up meeting rooms, arrange refreshments, and take minutes for internal departmental meetings.
- Special Projects: Assist senior staff with various ad-hoc projects and special events as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required. Previous volunteer work or student leadership roles are a plus.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Organization: Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time effectively.
- Background: Must pass a standard background check and drug screening.
- Availability: Ability to work a full-time schedule (40 hours per week) including occasional evening or weekend shifts.
