Responsibilities
- Assist in the calculation and processing of pension applications and retirement benefits for county employees.
- Review and verify employee service credits, salary records, and pension contribution data for accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to current and retired employees regarding pension plan inquiries and status updates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital and physical records of all pension-related documentation in compliance with state regulations.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of pension data into payroll systems.
- Prepare routine reports on pension fund status and trends for management review.
- Stay updated on changes in state and federal pension laws to ensure organizational compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in administrative support, data entry, or customer service is a plus.
- Must possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling sensitive financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn proprietary database systems quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex pension concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict government compliance standards.
