Responsibilities
- Process Pension Claims: Review and process incoming pension applications and benefit requests in strict accordance with state regulations.
- Verify Eligibility: Examine financial records, employment history, and supporting documentation to determine applicant eligibility for pension benefits.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for retirees and applicants, answering inquiries regarding status and procedures via phone and email.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized digital and physical records of all pension transactions.
- Compliance Support: Ensure all processed data aligns with current state labor laws and retirement plan guidelines.
- Report Generation: Assist senior analysts in generating routine reports on pension processing metrics and trends.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; experience in customer service, data entry, or administrative support is a plus.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential.
- Communication: Superior written and verbal communication abilities with the ability to explain complex regulations to the public.
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with database management systems.
- Integrity: Must possess the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
