Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily administration and maintenance of state pension plan records for active and retired employees.
- Process member inquiries regarding benefits, contributions, and retirement eligibility with accuracy and professionalism.
- Prepare and verify monthly and quarterly pension reports for internal review and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct data entry and audit tasks to ensure the integrity of the state's financial databases.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve complex benefit discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in state and federal retirement regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with sensitive financial data with absolute confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Access.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of retirement systems or government operations is highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state employment eligibility requirements.
