Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze environmental policies ensuring alignment with state/federal regulations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research on climate resilience, pollution control, and conservation
- Collaborate with state agencies, NGOs, and industry stakeholders to implement environmental programs
- Prepare legislative proposals and regulatory impact assessments
- Represent department at public hearings and community engagement events
- Monitor policy effectiveness using KPIs and recommend evidence-based improvements
- Manage cross-functional projects with $2M+ budget allocations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in environmental policy or regulatory compliance
- Expertise in Massachusetts environmental regulations (MGL Ch. 21, 30, 40, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, ArcGIS)
- Strong grant writing and legislative experience
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive environmental data
