- Adjudicate Social Security disability/retirement claims by analyzing medical/vocational evidence
- Conduct claimant interviews to gather critical documentation and clarify case details
- Apply complex federal regulations (SSR, HALLEX) to determine benefit eligibility
- Prepare clear written determinations explaining rationale to claimants and stakeholders
- Collaborate with medical consultants and legal teams on complex cases
- Maintain accurate case documentation in SSA electronic systems
- Meet strict productivity standards without compromising quality
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (mandatory for federal employment)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and case management software
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex medical/legal documentation
- Ability to communicate sensitive information with compassion and clarity
- Experience in customer service or public contact roles preferred
- Knowledge of SSA programs/regulations highly desirable
- Ability to pass federal background check and drug screening
