Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce federal regulations (VA, OMB, GAO) across departmental operations
- Conduct compliance audits and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Develop corrective action plans for non-compliance issues
- Coordinate with legal counsel on regulatory interpretations
- Train staff on federal compliance protocols and updates
- Maintain compliance documentation systems and audit trails
- Collaborate with IT on secure data handling procedures
- Represent the VA in regulatory reviews and external audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 3+ years federal compliance or audit experience
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in federal regulatory frameworks (CFR, FAR, DFARS)
- Advanced knowledge of VA-specific compliance requirements
- Certified Federal Investigator (CFI) or equivalent preferred
- Experience with GAO audit methodologies
- Strong written communication skills for policy documentation
