Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension program documentation to ensure 100% compliance with federal regulations
- Develop and implement compliance protocols for veteran benefit distribution systems
- Collaborate with legal teams to update policies aligning with OMB and GAO guidelines
- Lead cross-agency training sessions on regulatory changes affecting pension plans
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for congressional stakeholders and agency leadership
- Manage corrective action plans for identified compliance gaps
- Monitor emerging legislation and its impact on veteran pension programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in federal compliance or regulatory affairs
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Expert knowledge of 5 U.S.C. Chapter 83 (Federal Employees' Retirement System)
- Proficiency with federal audit frameworks (OMB Circular A-123, GAO Yellow Book)
- Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar pension portfolios
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex legislation
- Excellent written/verbal communication with senior government officials
