Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules to ensure facility security
- Conduct regular perimeter and interior security checks
- Respond to emergencies including disturbances and medical incidents
- Document incidents and maintain accurate daily logs
- Screen visitors and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum age 21 with high school diploma or GED
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness certification (ability to lift 50+ lbs)
- Basic CPR/First Aid certification
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Successful completion of 120-hour training academy
