Responsibilities
- Coordinate federal legislative initiatives with congressional offices and federal agencies
- Analyze policy impacts on veteran healthcare programs in Indiana
- Develop strategic recommendations for federal grant applications
- Manage stakeholder relationships with veteran service organizations
- Prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership on federal compliance
- Represent the department at federal hearings and community forums
- Monitor legislative changes affecting veterans' benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years federal government or public policy experience
- Proficiency with federal grant management systems (e.g., GAINS, SAM.gov)
- Strong knowledge of Congressional processes and federal regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with veteran advocacy programs preferred
- Valid U.S. citizenship required
