Role Overview
As a Federal IT Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and securing our nation's information infrastructure. Your expertise will directly support federal agencies in achieving their mission-critical objectives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex federal IT systems and networks to ensure 99.9% uptime and security.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to comply with FISMA and agency-specific regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues and provide innovative technical solutions.
- Manage project lifecycles from initiation through deployment, adhering to strict federal deadlines and compliance standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members and junior contractors.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, network topology, and standard operating procedures.
- Respond to and resolve escalated help desk tickets and system outages in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required for Federal positions (Clearance eligibility is a plus).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal or government IT environments.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security clearance (Secret/Top Secret) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) and federal network protocols.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure.
