Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
• Claims Processing: Review and process VA claims forms (VA 21-526EZ, VA 21-526EZ) with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to veterans and their families via phone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding benefit eligibility.
• Documentation: Ensure all case files are complete, organized, and compliant with federal regulations and privacy laws.
• System Management: Utilize the VA Information Resources Management (IRM) system and other federal databases to update claim statuses.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Regional Office team to resolve complex issues and ensure timely closure of cases.
• Compliance: Adhere to all federal policies, procedural manuals, and ethical standards governing the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Qualifications
Qualifications Required:
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for federal employment.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in administrative support, customer service, or claims processing is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with federal case management software.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Background Check: Must successfully complete a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
