Responsibilities
- Review and process incoming pension applications and retirement claims with high accuracy and speed.
- Conduct thorough eligibility verifications and data analysis for federal retirement plans (FERS/CSRS).
- Communicate complex pension details and benefit options to clients in a clear, empathetic, and professional manner.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, Internal Revenue Code (IRC) requirements, and agency guidelines.
- Manage and maintain secure, up-to-date client records within the internal database systems.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve discrepancies and process corrections.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries regarding pension projections and disbursements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in a government setting).
- Deep understanding of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong knowledge of federal payroll laws, tax regulations, and pension administration principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with pension administration software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-experts.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
