Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of private-sector pension plans to ensure ERISA compliance
- Investigate participant complaints and fiduciary breaches with impartial authority
- Develop corrective action plans for non-compliant retirement plans
- Provide regulatory guidance to employers, plan sponsors, and legal representatives
- Analyze complex pension documentation including 5500s and summary plan descriptions
- Collaborate with state agencies on multi-jurisdictional enforcement actions
- Train employers on fiduciary responsibilities and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of pension administration or ERISA compliance experience
- Advanced certification (CEBS, QKA, or CFA) preferred
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRC 401(k), and PBGC regulations
- Proficient in pension auditing software (e.g., PlanRight, BenefitGuardian)
- Strong analytical skills for complex financial data interpretation
- Federal security clearance eligibility (required)
- Experience with multi-employer pension plans a plus
