Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans (TSP, FERS) ensuring compliance with OPM and ERISA regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit elections, and survivor benefit claims with 99% accuracy
- Conduct pension plan audits and compliance reviews for federal agencies in Northern California
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement planning, investment options, and distribution strategies
- Maintain secure pension databases and generate comprehensive benefit statements for participants
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex pension-related inquiries and disputes
- Prepare quarterly reports on pension fund performance and regulatory compliance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal retirement systems
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement regulations (FERS, CSRS, TSP) and ERISA compliance
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Oracle HCM, ADP Retirement Services)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining retirement concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage confidential information with utmost discretion and integrity
