Responsibilities
- Process and validate pension claims for veterans and beneficiaries according to federal guidelines
- Conduct eligibility reviews and benefit calculations using specialized pension software
- Respond to complex inquiries from veterans, families, and legal representatives
- Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure audit compliance for pension records
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve disputed pension cases
- Train and mentor junior specialists on pension regulations and procedures
- Generate monthly reports on pension program performance and trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension/benefits administration experience
- Federal benefits certification (e.g., VEOA, VRA) preferred
- Proficiency with federal pension systems (e.g., VBMS, VBA) and MS Office
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
