Role Overview
As a Federal Pension Specialist, you will be the subject matter expert for federal retirement benefits, handling sensitive data and ensuring the seamless administration of pension plans for government employees.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end administration of Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) pension plans.
- Analyze pension calculations and ensure strict adherence to Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidelines.
- Provide expert consultation and resolution for complex employee inquiries regarding pension eligibility and benefits.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify process improvements for pension processing workflows.
- Ensure 100% data accuracy in all pension records and financial documentation.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on updated federal pension policies and regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension planning, or HR.
- Deep knowledge of FERS, CSRS, and other federal retirement systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pension management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial and personal data.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
