Responsibilities
- Analyze and process pension calculations for Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) beneficiaries.
- Provide detailed counseling to federal employees and retirees regarding pension vesting, survivor benefits, and retirement options.
- Resolve complex claims and eligibility issues with a high degree of accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Department of Labor to ensure adherence to federal regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all pension transactions and employee inquiries.
- Train junior staff on federal pension policies and procedural updates.
- Respond to high-volume inquiries via phone, email, and in-person in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or Public Administration.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in federal benefits administration or pension management.
- Deep working knowledge of FERS, CSRS, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and Social Security coordination.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to specific cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
