Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of travelers, vehicles, and cargo during weekend shifts to enforce federal regulations
- Operate advanced screening equipment including X-ray machines and radiation detectors
- Document and report suspicious activities, contraband discoveries, and security breaches using federal databases
- Collaborate with federal agents and local law enforcement during joint operations
- Maintain detailed logs of all inspections and encounters according to CBP protocols
- Participate in weekend-specific security drills and emergency response simulations
- Train on evolving security technologies and updated federal regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or federal compliance
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass federal background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal database systems
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday) with weekday availability
- Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse travelers and officials
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Completion of CBP basic training program or equivalent federal certification
