Responsibilities
- Manage and organize court dockets, case files, and records with the highest level of accuracy.
- Receive, file, index, and maintain legal documents, subpoenas, and court orders.
- Assist judges, attorneys, and the public with inquiries regarding court procedures, docket dates, and filing requirements.
- Prepare and issue legal writs, summons, and subpoenas in accordance with state laws.
- Operate court recording and docketing software (e.g., Odyssey, Case.net) to update case statuses.
- Maintain a professional and organized front desk reception area.
- Perform data entry tasks to ensure the integrity of the county's legal database.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associateās degree or Paralegal certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a legal office, court administration, or government setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
