Responsibilities
- Process Personnel Actions: Accurately review and process employment applications, promotions, and transfers in compliance with state regulations.
- Pension & Benefits Support: Assist employees and retirees with inquiries regarding CalPERS pension plans, health benefits, and daily pay schedules.
- Record Management: Maintain up-to-date and confidential personnel files and digital databases.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all administrative tasks adhere to strict government policies and labor laws.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal staff and external applicants, resolving inquiries promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, office management, or a related government sector role.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS systems.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and precision.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
