Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with federal, state, and local government officials
- Analyze legislative proposals and assess potential impacts on city operations
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and city council
- Coordinate interdepartmental responses to government inquiries and audits
- Monitor policy trends and recommend strategic adjustments
- Manage grant applications and compliance for city programs
- Represent the city at public hearings and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 3+ years of government affairs or legislative experience
- Proficiency in policy analysis and stakeholder engagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Louisiana state government structure
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Experience with budgetary processes preferred
