Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze federal/state legislation impacting municipal operations
- Develop legislative strategies aligned with city council priorities
- Coordinate with agency heads to prepare policy positions and testimony
- Build relationships with elected officials and regulatory stakeholders
- Manage grant applications and compliance reporting
- Prepare budget justifications for federal/state funding requests
- Advise city leadership on emerging policy trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of government affairs or legislative experience
- Proven track record in policy analysis and advocacy
- Strong understanding of California state/federal government processes
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
- Experience with municipal budgeting processes
- Valid California driver's license
