Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with city engineers, planners, and contractors to execute large-scale development projects efficiently.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and public service inquiries during peak operational hours.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of work performed, materials used, and project timelines.
- Adhere to environmental protection protocols when handling materials and waste.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and interns within the division.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction management, or government operations.
- Ability to pass a standard criminal background check and drug screening.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with the public and government officials.
