Responsibilities
- Manage and process weekly pension applications, retirements, and benefit calculations for public sector employees.
- Conduct thorough data verification and audits of pension records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Resolve complex member inquiries regarding contribution history, vesting, and annuity calculations.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate reporting of pension liabilities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal data in accordance with government security protocols.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements for the weekend processing team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or government financial services.
- Strong knowledge of state retirement systems, ERISA regulations, and tax codes applicable to government benefits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for complex data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-experts.
- Ability to work a rotating weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday) and occasional holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
