Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily processing of pension applications, ensuring strict adherence to state laws and internal compliance protocols.
- Analyze complex financial data and actuarial reports to calculate accurate pension benefits and service credits for retiring members.
- Conduct thorough reviews of retirement documentation to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity within the pension database.
- Respond to inquiries from members and stakeholders regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit calculations with professionalism and clarity.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to forecast funding requirements and adjust plan parameters as necessary.
- Stay current with changes in federal (ERISA) and state regulations to ensure our pension plan remains fully compliant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government benefits administration, retirement plan management, or actuarial support.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial statements and legal texts.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in high-volume processing environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to state facilities as required.
