Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans according to NC General Statutes and federal regulations
- Process retirement applications and disbursements with weekly payroll integration
- Conduct benefit calculations and actuarial reporting for 15,000+ participants
- Collaborate with HR departments to ensure accurate employee records
- Develop compliance reports for EBSA and NC Treasurer's Office audits
- Implement new pension legislation and procedural updates
- Manage participant communications regarding retirement options
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle HCM)
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a), and NC retirement statutes
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or SHRM-CP preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to manage confidential employee data with integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
